Why the Morning Gain Faded

It was the second session in three of AI valuation stress. On October 30 the TSX fell 629 points, or 1.74%, to 35,620.03 after Alphabet dropped more than 12% the previous day on heavier cash burn, BNN Bloomberg reported. Monday recovered 29% of that decline.

The sessions ahead carry dated risks. The U.S. midterm vote is today, the federal budget follows on Thursday, November 5, and the Bank of Canada decides on December 9. Goldman Sachs raised its year-end Brent forecast to $105 from $90, citing the risk of escalation after the midterms, Euronews reported, which ties the next leg in Canadian equities to whether the oil premium rebuilds or fades.
